I dived deep into the history of Walt's favorite foods and, sure enough, chili and beans was probably his favorite. Like Elizabeth Taylor, he was very fond of the chili from Chasen's restaurant in Los Angeles. Walt liked rib-sticking, all-American style fare such as fried chicken and steak (see the handwritten list of his favorites below). In the meantime, here's a chili and beans recipe Jane Weeks Martin included in her 1963 celebrity cookbook, "Cooking As You Like It."
Walt's chili might have looked something like my Three Lime Chili, since it has beans as well.

Without further ado, here's Walt! 🐭

Jane's cover.

The recipe! How about the addition of ginger? That's unusual for a chili recipe. I imagine goes well with the A.1. Sauce, given A.1.'s raisin and orange purées. I'll have to try it! It COULD be the happiest chili on earth!

Walt Disney's favorites! 🐭

I read the post about Walt Disney’s Chili and Beans, and it was fun to learn that chili was one of his favorite hearty, all‑American meals going way back, and the writer even shared a classic version of it you could try at home. It reminded me of a long finals week when I had so much to do that I even thought about having someone do my real estate exam for me just to get through the rest of my work. It made me think about how food, learning, and a bit of support can all keep you going.
