One of the greatest baking tips ever. Works like a charm. I used to put the concrete block of sugar in a ziploc back and bash it on the counter. No more!
Just put a handful of marshmallows (I use jumbo) in the top of the partially used bag of brown sugar, close tightly. Next time you use it, perfectly soft sugar ready to go. Easy peasy, Mrs. Beasley.
